Hi Kit, Linpus is not my cup of tea too. So said, I believe that the casual buyer will hardly reinstall another Linux distro even if it is likely much more up-to-date.

I didn’t have any patience for Linpus. Ubuntu UNR as the regular desktop version work much better on the AA1. I also gave Moblin a shot, was gross. But, I found that Ubuntu handles all the AA1-stuff nicely - including the fan, and wireless controls.
